I just solved it the same way myself by
uninstalling AVG. I had read elsewhere that Norton was blocking it for
some people, and I don't use it, but I figured it might be the antivirus
anyway. So I uninstalled and reinstalled AVG and now I have no
problems. When I reinstalled, I did make sure not to install the Office
plug-in, or toolbar, or whatever it is. I don't know if that part of
it helped, but I'm not taking any chances.
